Kathleen Budge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies. She earned her doctorate from the University of Washington in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  She is the coordinator of the Leadership Development Program, an innovative leadership preparation program.  Dr. Budge teaches Leadership Foundations, Leading Teaching and Learning, and Leading Systems.  Her current research agenda is to contribute to the theory and practice of school leadership and leadership preparation with a specific emphasis on the relationship of school leaders to the communities and geographical places they serve, especially rural contexts.  Dr. Budge joined the faculty at Boise State, after twenty-six years as a teacher, principal, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent in PK-12 public schools.
